My photographs reflect unique natural and urban landscapes as well as peculiarities of life in all its settings. To thrill the viewers, I strive to add a tint of emotional ambience to my photographs through vibrancy of natural colours and compositional finesse. I hope my work inspires others to reflect on the world around us and to appreciate things that may otherwise be overlooked.
Born in Moscow, Russia, I have extensively travelled across Europe, North America and the Caribbean. Although my love for photography came early in life, it wasn’t until I moved to Ottawa, Canada in 2003 that I became interested in photography as an art form. Developing my photographic skills through self-education and experimentation, I am currently exploring the realms of freelance fine art and travel photography. I have participated in art exhibitions in Canada and the United States and have notable achievements in national and international photography competitions. After spending one summer in Calgary and several visits to the Rocky Mountains and the Purcells, I had been dreaming of moving to Western Canada. Decision to relocate to Kamloops, British Columbia in 2017 was an easy one.
My photographs can be found in corporate offices and private homes across Canada, Russia, Germany, Trinidad and Tobago, Ukraine, Italy, Brazil, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United States. Through photography, I strive to find creative ways to support and give back to my community and to contribute to its health, active living and cultural enrichment. Organizations that I have supported over the years include: Autism Ontario, Bruce House, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa, Canadian Association of International Development Professionals, Canadian Council for International Co-operation, Canada Eurasia Russia Business Association, Canadian Avalanche Foundation, Carleton University’s Department of Political Science, Elizabeth Fry Society of Ottawa, Energy Council of Canada, Nova Scotia Gambia Association, Ottawa School of Arts, Rideauwood Addiction and Family Services, Schizophrenia Society of Ontario (Ottawa Region), Saba Conservation Foundation, Sprott School of Business MBA Student Society.
In 2013, I brought together my photography acumen and my interest for filmmaking to assist Quebec-based Rooney Productions in fundraising $2,000 to finance production of a documentary film. I worked as expedition photographer for the Bugaboo Spire Centennial Climb Project and assistant videographer for "Hobnails and Hemp Rope" documentary. I continue exploring the documentary film industry. My other initiative is to support semi-professional and amateur athletes in pursuit of their competitive achievements and philanthropic causes. Among such athletes are Isabelle Després who participated in the 2013 Pan American Weightlifting Championship in Venezuela and Terry SanCartier who in June 2014 completed a multi-day running expedition across the West African nation of The Gambia health education programs in Africa.
